Cyfarwyddwr: Paul Turner

It was an enormous privilege to work on this film that told the story of the Welsh poet who reluctantly joined up in WW1 and was killed almost as soon as he went over the top. Posthumously he won the Chair at the National Eisteddfod. I shared the design with Jane Roberts, though we worked on quite separate sections. She concentrated on his life in North Wales which was shot around Trawsfynydd and my brief was to recreate the battle fields which we did at the disused Templeton Airfield near Tenby, and at neighbouring locations.
The film won a number of BAFTA Cymru’s, including best design and it was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Language
